Will and Inventory of Tristram Pavier/Pavior clerk, 1671

Pavier/Pavior was curate of the nearby parish of Upton Grey until a year before his death aged 67 but owned a house in Basingstoke. His three daughters were bequeathed £20 each to be paid when they reached the age of 21. His inventory described a comfortable house with down bedding, embroidery covered chairs and silver (his books and maps alone totalled £60), all of which he left to his wife to bring up of his children with the proviso that if she re-married she was not to trick them into losing their inheritance. The total inventory was £200 5s. but he was owed unspecified debts and arrears from the Company of Skinners in London and £68 including £55 from the town of Basingstoke (Deane) and £5 from Upton Grey parish.

This was proved at Winchester despite him possessing interests outside the diocese.
