Will and Inventory of Bennet Morley/Moorelie, husbandman 1609

Morley stated his ‘lively faith’ in the death and passion of Jesus Christ and left small gifts to Winchester cathedral and Dummer church. He made provision for his son John, still a minor, and for the unborn child that his wife was carrying. Amongst his possessions were a butter churn and a cheese press but whilst two bullocks were recorded cows were not mentioned. Other animals included 20 sheep and five lambs, a number of horses and poultry. Crops included seven acres of wheat and seven acres of barley. His inventory was valued at £41 12s. 0d.
