Will and Inventory of William Grant/Graunt, Yeoman, 1595

Grant/Graunt was a yeoman and left money to Winchester cathedral, Dummer church and the poor of the parish as well as bequests to his mother, siblings and grandchildren including those from his wife’s first marriage, all to be paid out of £40 that his son owed him. He owned the lease of a farm in East Dummer, his inventory listed eight acres of mixed crops as well as grain in the barn. He had a mixed farm with 30 sheep, two cows, a bullock, hogs and poultry.
