Inventory of Simon Cowdrey/Cowdry, 1587

Cowdrey died intestate but his inventory listed the furniture, bedding and linen, hearth furniture and kitchen and table utensils of yeoman household, with clothing valued at £1 13s. 4d. for a gown and kirtles. He ran a mixed farm, with cattle, sheep, poultry, and wool and wheat in store, but with a specialism in honey production. He left two hives of bees, three hives where the bees had died, and one sold hive, all amounting to 13s. Total value £27 2s. 8d. Probate was granted to Roger Cowdry to administer in the minority of Simon’s daughter Margaret.
