Will and Inventory of William Fry, tailor, 1587

Fry had a large and well equipped house. There is little to indicate his occupation as tailor, except a wheel for spinning linen and he did possess a set of iron scales and lead weights. His wife was named as executrix and heir, sharing with their four children, but he also left bequests to his sons from a former marriage. These included scarves and handkerchiefs – perhaps made by him. Total value £9 8s.6d.
