Will & Inventory of William White of Dummer, cleric 1588

White referred to himself as ‘clerk and most humble minister and priest of the parish church of Dummer’ and he besought Almighty God ‘that his soul be set and planted in the society of the elect and chosen in his kingdom’. He asked that his body be buried in the south side of the chancel in the church at Dummer, near to the wall where he hoped to have a little tomb. His inventory shows his involvement with cheese and butter making, that he kept pigs and had crops of corn and barley.
