Will of William Herne, Clothier, 1657

Herne was probably a wealthy retired clothier as he left over £200 of money to his grandchildren as well as his siblings and children. When reaching 21 years, one son was to inherit land in Monk Sherborne, Hampshire and another son 20 acres in Woodspeen near Newbury, Berkshire. He left silver plate to his wife and sons and a gold ring. No inventory survives.
