Inventory of John South, 1660

South lived in Nately Scures but also had a property at Holt, a detached part of the parish. Items listed here would indicate that he lived in the mill. He had malt at Holt and in London showing a trade link, which should have caused the will to be proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury. He also had hop poles and access to trees to pollard. Thirty acres of crops are listed £100 of sown corn. He had numerous cattle, sheep, horses and ploughs. In Nately Scures he had 50 cheeses and weapons. The total inventory amounted to £352 but no will survives.
