Will of Amy Grove, spinster, 1646

Grove is a mystery. She is described as ‘spinster’ but she had a son, a daughter, two grandchildren and a wedding ring. She calls her son William Grove alias Sandys. She also had lands in Sherborne St John. Was she a mistress of one of the Sandys family at the Vyne or was the term 'spinster' an error and she really was a widow? She was clearly a wealthy woman with bequests of over £750.
