Inventory of Thomas Cowdrey, collar maker, 1645

Cowdrey made collars for horses using leather. The materials and tools of his trade are listed in the inventory. £68 worth of the total inventory valued at £88 was made up of desperate debts which the assessors were concerned would never be paid. One could speculate that perhaps he had supplied collars for soldiers' horses and not been paid.
