1881 Census

The whole of the parish of Nately Scures commencing at Water End thence to Scures Farm thence to the cottages in the lane near the Parsonage then to the cottages on the north side of Scures Hill then taking all the cottages on the east side of Hook Common which are in Nately Scures parish then to Hook Street thence to Heatherow and terminating therewith.

For this census the area known as Holt was included in the census for Newnham and hence the population for Nately Scures had dropped to 244 including one visitor, with only three farms totalling 182 acres. There was still mention of a miller living on the Basingstoke Road. Several men continued to be employed as brickworkers, wheelwrights, smiths and iron workers. Three men were listed as working on the railway. The rector was now in residence in the rectory with his wife and three domestic servants.
