Will of Edward Mooring, rector, 1673

Mooring’s long incumbency as rector of Cliddesden and Farleigh Wallop was interrupted by the five years of the interregnum; his will makes no mention of his ejection and restoration, tumultuous events. Mooring left £320 to the poor people of Cliddesden for purchasing land or property at £16 a year, ‘yearly forever’, which by separate deed was to be used for the maintenance of the school and employment of a master.
