Will of Thomas Belchamber, yeoman, 1600

Thomas Belchamber, son of John (d. 1546) left 10s. to the poor people of Cliddesden. His will indicates considerable wealth with land and properties in six parishes including Cliddesden and Basingstoke, but, sadly, no inventory survives. A member of the Belchamber family who migrated from Basingstoke earlier in the century, he made much of ‘remembering the name of Belchamber’.
