Will and inventory of James Aslat, 1571

Aslet/Aslat left 4d. to each of his godchildren and a cow and four sheep to each of his four young children in the custody of his wife until they came of age. The residue of his £19 estate was left to his wife and executrix, Margat, the bulk of which was represented by his 50 sheep and eight cattle. He also left two spinning wheels, perhaps suggesting that he or his wife spun the wool for sale.
