Will and inventory of Harry Sherlock, husbandman, 1557

Sherlock left a modest farmer’s estate valued at £9 15s.10d, a third of which consisted of six quarters of wheat. He made bequests to his son Robard, his daughter Annes Dymmyng/Dymyng, the wife of John Dymmyng, and other family members. His executors had to repay nine debts, totalling £2 10s. 1d. which included the purchase of 12 bushels of malt and the hiring out of sheep and a cow.
