Atkinson was innkeeper at the Raven Inn. Widow Atkinson (presumably his mother) had 7 hearths in the 1665 Hearth Tax at the Raven Inn. The number of chambers and service rooms are typical of an inn. He also possessed considerable sums of money and some land.
