Will of William Cape, rector of Newnham and Mapledurwell, 1654

Cape was rector of Newnham and Mapledurwell. He was a fellow of Queen’s College, Oxford, who were patrons of the living and he probably came from north-west England. He left shingles for repairing the church at Newnham and money for repairs at Mapledurwell. He also left bequests to the poor of each parish. He was a significant landowner with property listed in a number of parishes.
