Will of Alexander Searle, tanner, 1645

Searle was a wealthy tanner who left substantial bequests. His will was proved before the abolition of bishops and may have been proved at Canterbury as he had interests outside the diocese of Winchester – he rented a house and land in Newnham which was owned by James Deane of Oxenwood, Wiltshire. Searle also had houses and land in North Warnborough, Odiham parish.
