Inventory of John Hulet, rector of Newnham and Mapledurwell, 1589

Hulet was the rector of Newnham with Mapledurwell but contrary to the normal practice he was not an ex-student of Queen's College, Oxford, patron of the living. His inventory is interesting for the range of food and goods. He owned 40 books and 12 panes of glass. It is a pity that the books were not listed. Glass was quite a luxury at this time.

It is odd that he died intestate as most clergy made wills but perhaps his death was sudden and unexpected.
