The whole of the Civil Parish of Ellisfield, contents comprising cottages at Berrydown, a cottage at Highwood, cottages at the Lower and Upper Commons, Hill Farm house, cottages at the Green and at Northgate; Widmore House and cottages; cottages at Ducks Alley, Merritts Farm, Coopers Farm and College Farm with cottages situated near to each and Ellisfield village.

For this census the population of Ellisfield is 259 in 57 houses with only one unoccupied. There are six farmers employing the majority of men as agricultural labourers, shepherds, carters, hay binders and cowmen, but there is also a carpenter, bricklayer, five hoop makers, two hurdle makers, a shoemaker and a blacksmith. There is one public house, a tavern and three dealers/hawkers. Only 15 females are listed as working, with individuals described as a village nurse, field worker, artist, laundress but the rest are domestic servants largely employed by the rector or a former Army Captain.
