Inventory of Thomas Small, yeoman, 1687

Small was a copyholder of the manor. His inventory was valued at the large sum of £1099 but £1000 of that was for land he held in Basingstoke but there is no indication of where the land was in the town or for what it was used. In Steventon he had 40 acres of oats sown to thirds, implying that he shared the profits with the landlord or another party who shared costs and profits.
