Will of Richard Machyn, 1509

Will of Richard Machyn, 1509. Machyn, a man of some substance, died relatively young (before his parents), of an unspecified illness. He bequeathed richly-trimmed clothes to members of his family, and 8 dozen sheep to his servant. This suggests his wealth came from sheep; he had land in both Cheltenham and Redmarley (Worcs.). The will gives some information about pre-reformation images in the parish church of Cheltenham.
