A schoolmaster's memorial

This memorial in Timberscombe church porch commemorates schoolmaster William Wood, a veteran of the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805. Formerly in the churchyard, it had been damaged and was restored by students of Bournemouth University c. 2007 and moved into the porch for protection. It is one of very few memorials in the county connected with Trafalgar.
