Will of Thomas Wither, gentleman of Andwell, 1701

Wither was the wealthy tenant of the Manor of Andwell which he left to his son. He virtually disinherited his daughter, Mary, and his son, George, as they had ‘grievously offended God their heavenly father’. We are told no more of their offence – had they become Quakers or just failed to attend church?
