Richard Phelps' possessions

Before he died in 1785 Richard Phelps was aware that his son and heir, also Richard, was in financial difficulties and tried to save some of the goods, especially his pictures, for his grandsons Richard and John. His fears were realised when in 1798 his son Richard was declared bankrupt.
