Simonsbath road bridge from the west

The bridge at Simonsbath gave its name to the village. It carries a medieval or older trackway across the moors from Somerset to Devon and the element 'bath' may be a corruption of 'path'. The bridge is of medieval origin but it had been destroyed by flooding and rebuilt several times.
