Blake House, Bampton Street, Minehead

This much altered 17th-century merchant's house is one of the earliest surviving houses in Bampton Street, which was largely rebuilt after the 1791fire that destroyed the eastern side of the street. In the 17th century Bampton Street was the main route into Minehead, hence its name, and there were several substantial houses.
