Will and inventory of Elizabeth Fry, widow, 1686

Fry was admitted tenant of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, Copyhold number 4, after the death of her husband, Christopher Fry, in 1665. The copyhold was farmed from Gary’s Farm which still exists and is still owned by Corpus Christi College, Oxford. The tenant today farms the main farm in Mapledurwell. Fry had permission from the College in 1666 to sublet the property and her inventory contained only personal possessions, money and bonds.
