Will and Inventory of Nicholas Smith, yeoman, 1639

This was an additional inventory for Nicholas Smith whose will was proved in 1632. It valued his goods not administered by his widow, Elizabeth Smith, before her death. Elizabeth had been left as executrix and joint legatee in 1632 with her eldest son, Roger, of the residue of Nicholas’ goods to finance the upbringing of the children. Elizabeth was buried on Christmas Day 1638.
