Will and inventory of Christopher Lester, yeoman and Corpus Christi College bailiff, 1637

Christopher Lester was bailiff of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He was tenant of their copyhold 13 (Hooklands) in Newnham until his death. Before and after his tenure, the property was held by the Mathew family to whom he left his weapons and the contents of Hooklands House. This property is today part of Owens Farm, Newnham.  Where he lived/died in Mapledurwell is not known.
