Cottages, Duke of York Square

This is one of several 1840s cottages partly hidden in this nice little square, previously known as Duke of York Square and now part of Stringer Street, the only remaining house in the street. It has its original brickwork, window size and doorway. The area in 1840s comprised of about 45 small two up, two down cottages, with a few larger houses. Presently there are less than twenty cottages in the whole area mostly well kept.
