Foresters Arms, West Street, Dunster

A tallow chandler kept the Bridge End alehouse on the corner of West and Gallox, now Park, Streets, licensed in 1849 and formerly a chandler’s house and workshops. In the early 1870s it changed its name to the Foresters Arms. By 1910 it had nine bedrooms as well as bar, tap, clubroom and skittle alley. In 1923 was modernised and despite a prosecution for selling alcohol out of hours in 1926 remained in business as a public house and hotel.
