Will and inventory of William Clifton, shoemaker, 1565

This is a transcript of the will and inventory of William Clifton, shoemaker.
The will opens with a particularly pious and Protestant preamble. It concludes with a list of debts owed by Clifton and a list of those owed to him, including 6d from Peter Lawrence for a pair of shoes. The inventory lists cutting knives and lasts worth 3s in the 'shop', or workshop, as well as household goods in the hall and chamber, and a mare and six swine.
