Bishopstone Tide Mills East Sussex

View of the Tidemills from the east (Newhaven) side with the mill hoist on the top. Behind, the roofline of more buildings can be seen. This site ended up with a village for workers which can be studied by looking at the census enumerators' schedules of the mid to later nineteenth century. The mill and other assets descended to the Willett family who donated to Brighton Museum and did other good works.
