Steam train passing the Somerset Heritage Centre

These Great Western locomotives would have been a familiar site passing the supply depot. However, hard working goods locomotives would also have been busy within the depot as several sidings would have occupied the foreground and there were branch sidings to several of the store sheds. It was the presence of the main line that made this site and neighbouring ones so desirable for military purposes.
