Higher Flax Mills site, Castle Cary

This Victorian factory complex at Higher Flax Mills, Castle Cary, was formerly occupied by Donne and Co's linen, jute and hemp business. Today John Boyd's horsehair weaving business is carried on in the buildings on the left and the rest of the site is occupied by several small businesses. The building on the right covers one of Donne's former ropewalks where ropes, twine and cord were made.
