Hardwick Old Hall from the south

The south front of the Old Hall shows none of the symmetry of the later New Hall. The two tower-like wings do not match and the gabled centre has to one side a taller staircase tower, The tallest windows are on the top floor of the wings and lit the grandest rooms.
