Parham House, photograph of the south front, 1923

In the mid-19th century, the Curzon owners and their architect, Anthony Salvin, returned the house to an Elizabethan appearance. They replaced the sash windows and restored the triangular gables. In the 1870s the tall bay windows at each end of the house were built to light double-height rooms carved out of the two-storeyed wings.
