Old Manor House

The Old Manor House, on the High Street in Codford St Peter, is typical of stone-built West Wiltshire farmhouses of the late 16th and early 17th centuries. A front door, now blocked, led into the everyday living room (hall). The central chimneystack was used to heat both the hall and the parlour, which was slightly raised above a cellar. Note signs of a change in the road level and windows divided into lights by vertical members (mullions).
