High Street, no. 3

Although No. 3 High Street, with its 18th century brick front like others in the row, probably contains timber framing, it is well hidden. However, to the rear there is a two storey timber framed building, of possible 16th century date, laid out on an east west alignment that appears to have an underbuilt jetty along the south side.

At first floor level in the east end of the building is a narrow blocked doorway with a doorhead that either led onto an external staircase or shows that the range continued in an easterly direction.
