The Hatfield Survey
Some two hundred years after Boldon Book, the townships of Bishopwearmouth, Tunstall, Ryhope and Burdon, together with the borough of Sunderland, appeared again in another survey of the bishopric estates, commissioned by Bishop Thomas Hatfield and completed in the early 1380s.
