King Doniert's Stone, St Cleer

To the north west of St Cleer, on the Liskeard Road, there lies an inscribed Anglo-Saxon stone cross, known as the Doniert Stone, which has an inscription 'Doniert Rogauit Pro Anima' which means 'Doniert order this cross for the good of his soul'. This may refer to Durngarth, who was a 9th century King of Cornwall.
