St Ive Parish Church

Constructed in 1338, St Ive parish was built to commemorate the Welsh saint Ivo. Built in the popular 15th century Perpendicular style, St Ive is both unique and elaborate. Like most churches during the Victorian era, St Ive underwent serious renovations. The pulpit remains a 17th century creation with carvings of mermaids and angles on the ceiling. There are five bells, dated as far back as 1754 and as recently as 1844. Throughout the church there are memorials dedicated to the families of Dodson, Saltren, Heylar, and others.
