Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara

The Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Church Road, St. George, Bristol is in a building built in 1894-95 originally as the St. Geroge’s higher Grade and Technical School, the most impressive 19th century local authority school in Bristol. Planning records document that in 2004 the Gurdwara enquired about seeking permission for a higher perimeter fence since the building had ‘been experiencing a lot of racists attacks to the building and the community since 2000 and recently more frequent incidents have occurred.’ (Bristol Planning Department, Envelop 19779, Letter 12.8 2004 in Street file C/25, Church Road. Citd by Andy Foyle).
