General Kosciuszko

Thaddeus Kosciuszko was born in Poland on February 4, 1746, son of Ludwik and Tekla Kosciuszko.
General Kosciusko was a Polish patriot and a hero of the American Revolution who also wanted to abolish slavery. He visited Bristol on 13th June 1793 where he was greeted with great respect and much praise.
He supported the abolition of slavery and visited Bristol on 13th June 1797 where he attended the American Consulate in Queen's Square.
