Three Sugar Loaves

This pub is another link to the thriving Bristol sugar industry, although the refinery itself burnt down in 1859. Heat was necessary to in the refining process, but was also a hazard, and the records show that at least 11 Bristol sugar refineries burnt to the ground between 1670 and 1859!
