Court House, Tailor's Court

Off Broad Street is Tailor's Court, to one side of which is The Court House. This picture shows the doorway and the shell shaped canopy over the entrance, where the former owner William Miller lived. Miller was a grocer, banker and a founding member of the Company of Merchants Trading to Africa. Miller made so much money that on his death in 1781 he was worth £190,000 pounds, the equivalent of being a multi-millionaire by today's values!
