Courtenays of West Molland

Courtenay Monument in Molland church
Until they died out in 1732, a branch of the Courtenay family lived at West Molland Barton, which bears their coat of arms on its main front. Like most of the Courtenays they were Roman Catholics but that did not prevent them having a lavish set of family monuments erected in the parish church.
