Cloggs Farm

Cloggs Farm
This farm in Hawkridge, anciently known as Foxcombe but now named after an early tenant, lies on the county boundary. To the west of the farm lie its small enclosed fields of improved land. The house may have originated as a 16th-century longhouse but was extensively altered in the 19th century. In 1851 the farm measured 160 acres and a family of 8 lived in the house. Later the farm was enlarged to cover 270 acres in 1881.
