Will and Inventory of William Frye, husbandman, 1620.

William Frye was the copyholder of Garys Farm (Corpus Christi copyhold no.4) which is still standing at the far south of the village street. In 2013 it is the farmhouse occupied by the one surviving farmer in Mapledurwell who still rents it from Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Frye was a substantial mixed farmer, renting some 40 acres on which he had crops and livestock including 40 sheep valued at £15. He had money which he lent out at a profit.
